1. Confirm which card you are comparing
Start with set, number, language, finish and variant. Condition and grading, when documented, also matter. If your record's reference remains pending, do not present a name match as a valuation of that card.
2. Label the type of evidence
Use guide for an indicative figure, asking price for a requested amount and sale for a completed transaction with evidence. The category should remain visible in the record and any comparison. Having a link does not turn a listing into a sale.
3. Keep a minimum evidence template
Record category, amount, currency, source/link and observation date. Add checkable context: quantity, condition, fees and any reference difference. If a required detail is missing, the evidence is pending completion.
- Comparable reference: confirmed or pending.
- Category: guide, asking price or completed sale.
- Source, date and currency visible beside the amount.
4. Do not mix incompatible data
Keep currencies separate when there is no documented conversion. Do not combine a graded card and an ungraded one as if they were equivalent. A sold lot and a single offered copy do not have the same denominator either. Describe limitations before summarizing.
5. Show what is missing
Without usable evidence, show Valuation pending and an action to review or add a source. Coverage counts records with evidence; it does not guarantee an economic value for every copy. Automatic prices are unavailable; the demo does not generate prices.
Practical questions
Can I use the highest asking price as my card's value?
A high asking price is still a requested amount. It proves neither a sale nor matching reference and context. Keep the category and limitations instead of turning it into a sale.
How can I tell whether price coverage is complete?
Define which evidence counts as usable and compare the records that have it with the total. Also show records without evidence. Complete coverage does not mean different categories or currencies can be added together.
Local recognition is being validated. The demo is predetermined; it saves no cards and uses no quota. Review attributes against the physical card: condition and authenticity are not certified.
